This year we were all overcome by the pokemon craze once again as they made a comeback and this time became modernized in the digital age.

Pokemon Go is a app that was created to be fun as well as get people moving more. What this app does is makes you step out of your house and explore the world around you while finding these little pokemon characters in our every day life. In the first few months of release it was met with both praise and scrutiny but overall was very popular world wide. In recent months it has decreased in popularity but still is played by quite a few dedicated pokemon fans.

The quickest and easiest way to decorate your house this season!

I am fairly certain the majority of you have seen on tv or in stores the projection lights that take out all of the work of hanging up christmas lights. So by now you are probably going yeah i've heard about these and I am excited to hear all about them and how they work or for some it could be oh yeah I bet those don't work well. Well I am here to cover both of those types of people right now but I am not covering any light projector you've seen on tv or in the stores.

This one as you will see is more pricey than the ones advertised on tv and will make a few people turn away from purchasing it. I get it completely cause when I saw the price I thought the same thing. But once I got it delivered to my door and really got to exam it I can tell you right now you are getting a pretty good deal. This projector unlike it's cheaper store versions is made to last more than a season or two as it is made with strong high quality aluminum so you can rest assured this isn't some cheap hard plastic that will eventually wear down or break. This is strong and what I really love is that it's waterproof!

The remote that comes with it is really so nice to have because on cold nights you can just turn on your lights from the warmth of your home, You can even adjust the speed of lights,color of the lights and set a timer for how long the lights will stay on.

The lights themselves are very bright and vibrant and stretch out far across the house. I will say at one point I pointed it towards my large spruce tree in my yard and it looked as though I decorated my tree outside so there is another idea for you.

Even dogs that do not have hip dysplasia may have a decrease in this cartilage as they age, and will show signs of arthritis. In addition, aging dogs may also have arthritis in their knees, elbows, and shoulders and cartilage loss or damage that respond to glucosamine and chondroitin.

Glucosamine and chondroitin are also often used as an aid in the treatment of spinal disc injuries or post operatively in dogs that have undergone joint surgery.

The typical patient that is placed on and responds to glucosamine and chondroitin therapy is a middle aged to older medium to large breed dog. Dogs may show symptoms of limping or stiffness especially in the morning and during cold weather. They usually loosen up as they move around and exercise. Some dogs have difficulty climbing stairs or getting into or out of a vehicle. Many dogs respond to treatment with buffered aspirin (Do NOT give your cat aspirin unless prescribed by your veterinarian) or carprofen (Rimadyl), but when the product is discontinued the pain and symptoms return. Osteoarthritis also affects small dogs and cats and glucosamine and chondroitin have been used very effectively in relieving their symptoms.

In my experience I would say that most older dogs suffer from some level of osteoarthritis. Many owners attribute the loss of activity to old age and may not even identify it as a problem. And they never appreciate how much their dog’s activity level was being reduced by the arthritis until they place their dog on glucosamine and chondroitin therapy and see the return of normal function.

Where are glucosamine and chondroitin found?

Glucosamine and chondroitin are normal substances found in the body of living animals. They are at their highest concentration in cartilage. Unfortunately, through degradation during digestion and processing, almost all of the glucosamine in an animal's diet is unavailable for use. The body, therefore, synthesizes most of its own glucosamine through a biochemical reaction utilizing glucose. In normal healthy animals the body is able to synthesize enough glucosamine to keep the existing cartilage healthy, but when the animal ages or there is damage to joint cartilage it cannot produce enough to keep up with the body's needs. This is where a supplemental form of glucosamine is needed.

Supplemental glucosamine: Glucosamine is a 2-amino derivative of glucose which is obtained through the hydrolysis of chitin, a polysaccharide found in the shell of crustaceans. Crustaceans have a very high concentration of chitin and because the shells are often discarded, provide a reliable and cost effective source of glucosamine.

Chondroitin: Chondroitin is a naturally occurring product found in animal cartilage. Supplemental chondroitin is derived primarily from bovine (cow) cartilage, particularly the cartilage rings of the trachea. It is also derived from shark and whale cartilage. The source does not appear to have any impact on its effect. Though for ecological reasons, many consumers prefer bovine sources.

How do glucosamine and chondroitin work?

The way that glucosamine works is a very complicated process. In a nutshell, cartilage consists of several different cells, one of which is chondrocytes. Chondrocytes are responsible for synthesizing new cartilage. Through normal wear, cartilage is constantly being broken down and replaced. When a dog has hip dysplasia or ages, the chondrocytes do not have the building blocks available to them to build enough new cartilage to keep up with the breakdown of the old cartilage. Glucosamine provides the building blocks to synthesize new cartilage. Glucosamine is the building block necessary for the production of the substances called glycosaminoglycans. The glycosaminoglycans are combined with hyaluronic acid to make the substance proteoglycans. The proteoglycans and collagen are the main structures of cartilage.

Chondroitin also is one of the products necessary for the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans. But it probably plays a more important role by combating and neutralizing destructive enzymes in the joint. There is always a low level of destructive enzymes found in the joint, but when injury or abnormal wear occurs, the destructive enzymes and agents increase accelerating cartilage destruction. When chondroitin is added to the diet it helps to reduce the level of these destructive enzymes.

There are many different types of ways to give your dog this supplement but in this blog I am discussing the chewable tablet form of this supplement. The easy to chew and tasty flavored tablets ( basing this off how my dog enjoyed it and not from my personal experience of trying these haha) are perfect for all dogs as they see it as more of a treat than as a vitamin they have to take. I really love the kit overall and my only issue I found with it was the case itself easily popped apart but also on the upside it popped back in easily too. But that is really minor considering how nice what is inside which really is the only part of this kit that matters.

We all have had moments of aches and pains that have led to reaching for a non prescription pain reliever and there are no shortage of these different kinds of pain relievers on the market and among those are a lot of big named pain relievers.

Now when it comes to medicine we all tend to go to the ones that we know of and people say is great for pain relief. Now I  will say I am guilty of this and hugely guilty of getting the store brand versions of the great name brand products because a lot of times they are the same.

Today I am reviewing a pain relief product that isn't as well known and to be honest I had no clue about it until I was asked to try it out and see how it compared to my go to pain reliever. Unlike my go to pain reliever I went into taking this pain reliever when I needed it without knowing anything about it as far what the company said about it. I did consult my doctor which I would highly recommend everyone talk to your doctor before trying out any new supplement or medicine.

But my reason for going in mostly unaware of any opinions on this product is because I wanted a fair and mostly unbiased mind set on this pain reliever. I say mostly unbiased cause lets face it I have had this one go to pain reliever for years so going into it nothing is going to be better than the one i've used.

So first let's take a look at the box of flanax to show that I did actually have the product in hand and did try it.

Okay so just to clarify I am not a constant pain reliever taker haha. I do have knee and back pain and the occasional headache. I probably took about 2 doses in the time period of this experiment up to writing this blog.

A difference I noticed between this pain reliever and the one I previously used is that this one actually seemed to last longer allowing me more relief from the pain. It was almost like having a prescription pain relief pill but without the prescription because it did last longer. I was overall satisfied with the results I got from this pain reliever.

Now the effectiveness of the pain reliever is on the same path as my former pain reliever as they both helped relieve my pain quickly and helped me feel better.

Now the negative of this product, It is made with Naproxen which is also found in aspirin and there are people who are allergic to aspirin so this is not for everyone! Again I advise that you check with your doctor before taking these.

Ok so the cons of this product first. And really I should just say con cause honestly I just found one thing I didn't like and that was that this is battery operated so you will need to purchase batteries to use this. If you purchase rechargeable batteries it's not a large cost and actually is cheaper over time.

The pros though are pretty much all you would expect from this. It really leaves your feet baby soft smooth. It does buff off the dead skin from your feet and it is handy to take it around with you anywhere.

JointRitis- Joint Pain Reliever

We all at some point suffer from aches and pains and as we get older they tend to become more of a nuisance in our lives. There are many products on the market right now that say they help ease the pain and there are good and bad amongst all of those. In this blog I am ready to discuss and review one of the roll on pain relievers on the market now.

Before I get into the product itself let me break down each ingredient in this product to better help you understand why each of them is vital in your recovery from the pain in your joints.

Pure Menthol- Menthol has a natural analgesic (pain reliever) attribute when used in lotion, gel, or cream form. As the lotion is applied, molecules called ligands attach themselves to receptors in your cell triggering a change. The menthol ligand attaches to the kappa Opioid receptor, which produces a numbing effect.

Another reason menthol works so well when you rub it on those aching muscles is because it triggers a process called vasodilation. Blood vessels in the area widen, increasing blood flow to the area and reducing the skin barrier function. As a result, other medicinal ingredients typically found in that lotion along with the menthol get to work faster while the increased blood flow itself bring nutrients necessary for cellular repair and carry away waste.

Finally, one of the biggest culprits behind muscle aches and pains is inflammation. The Latin word for inflammation is inflammare which means “to set on fire.” Menthol brings a wonderful cooling sensation by stimulating thermoreceptors in the skin cells which help your body recognize temperature changes. Your skin doesn’t actually change temperature. Instead, menthol causes a signal to be sent which your brain interprets as cold, relieving the uncomfortable heat of inflammation. That’s why many first aid products use menthol for cooling in place of ice.

Anhydrous Caffeine- Caffeine is often used as an ingredient in pain relievers, particularly those that treat migraine headaches. Caffeine makes pain relievers such as aspirin 40% more effective. It also helps the body to absorb medication more quickly, bringing faster relief.

Eucalyptus- Eucalyptus oil in particular has been cited with extraordinary pain relieving faculties. These abilities stem from the substances’ ability to have a positive stimulant effect on the body’s circulatory system. The result is an increased blood flow and therefore also oxygenation of the bodily tissues. This can greatly help to heal any painful injuries. Remember, pain is little more than your body’s warning system all is not well. There are some areas of the body where greater care is indicated! By fostering a healing of these affected tissues, the pain will go away naturally as the cause is removed.

In addition to increasing the oxygen flow to the affected tissues, eucalyptus oil has a great reputation for doing away with muscle spasms. It also may even have a somewhat slight sedative effect to the area to which it is applied. Migraine sufferers in particular are urged to give the eucalyptus a try because of the dual effect in pain abatement if offers. It is surprising in today’s highly educated society there is not more of an urgency to get back to basics. However, many people are still not aware of natural products and their benefits.

Sometimes a patient may endure years of excruciating pain requiring multitudes of chemically mixed painkillers in order to live an ounce of a normal life. On the other hand, there are those adventurous souls who choose to give eucalyptus and other herbs and oil a chance! Before long they notice some very real and lasting relief. Not only will they prevent years of pain and suffering, but they also save themselves a lot of assorted health problems brought on by various painkillers.

Copaiba- This oil really stands out as a natural pain relief. This property is used in many products as well. Research shows that glucosamine is well tolerated for up to three years. However, people who are allergic to shellfish should avoid using it.

 Chondroitin- Chondroitin sulfate is a molecule that is found naturally in the body. It has mostly been used to treat joint disorders, such as osteoarthritis, and problems with the chewing muscles and joints.

Clinical trials on the use of chondroitin for osteoarthritis have found promising results. However, most of the studies are conducted for less than two years. Adequate assessment of long-term safety, side effects, and effectiveness is lacking.

Early evidence suggests that chondroitin sulfate may improve the absorption of iron and measures of coronary artery disease. However, more research is needed in these areas.

So now that we know all the aspects that make up this joint relief pain let's take a look at this roll on pain relief more by seeing pictures of the product I received.
